“A Sheep Named Diva” will encompass several series, one allowing students in the Middle School to share persuasive essays and another covering the topics of comic books and video games. The elective is also developing a podcast series on sports.
Will Madigan, an active member of the Rambler, the Middle School newspaper, since the beginning of the year, wrote the introduction and closing for this first episode while Robert Ogg, who joined Publications in January, came on as host for the series. Joey Jacobson designed the logo for the podcast using photo shop. Students recorded the podcast using a Rainier USB Studio Microphone on Garage Band in the Commons Room during the elective period.
The Rambler’s first podcast highlights a persuasive essay written by eighth-grader Gabi Levinger-Louie. Mrs. Alexander says, “Rambler students owe a special thanks to Gabi for sharing her persuasive essay for this inaugural episode, to Mr. Delaney for reading and recording Gabi’s speech, to Mr. Forrester for giving his time to edit the initial take and to Ms. Metz for helping to guard the door and keep out noise during recording times.”
