Aspiring student filmmaker Jared Peraglia is getting recognition once again from several film festivals for two of his latest movie projects.
The Harvey School senior’s 10-minute short “Among the Pine” was selected for screenings at two recent events, the Reel Escape Film Festival in Sydney, Australia and the All-American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF) in New York City. The film has also been selected to be screened at the upcoming C&C Teen Hollywood Film Festival November 11 in
Jared wrote, directed, and edited the film. His production crew included Harvey Class of 2017 alums Ryan Hurst and Joshua Bloom, current Harvey students Hana Cornell, Justin Tebbutt, Sam Chumsky
“Among the Pine,” filmed on location in Peekskill, NY, is a story about a desperate young man whose mother’s disappearance drives him to the edge of the woods and to the edge of his mind.
Jared’s second short, “Millimeter’s Away,” has been accepted for screenings at both the AAHSFF and the Rockland Youth Film Festival. The nine-minute film shot in Peekskill and in Katonah on the campus of The Harvey School is about a young man, who, upon his release from a psychiatric hospital, visits his female friend seeking help in his fight against his lingering demons.
Jared, whose short film “How I Rot” earned invitations to two festivals last year, was delighted to get the news of the selections and nominations of his most recent films. “The team and I are overly ecstatic and honored by these latest acceptances and nominations," Jared said.
