The perfect way to start off the new school year was to welcome back both our seniors and our newest Harvey students! On Monday, August 28, we invited our Class of 2018 to a Senior BBQ, and it was clear there is great excitement building in anticipation for senior year. We held several new student orientations Tuesday, August 29 for students at every grade level. Our Middle School orientation welcomed middle school students and their families to campus, giving them a chance to meet teachers and their advisors, as well as visit classrooms, familiarize themselves with the campus layout, and meet their classmates. Fun activities helped "break the ice" and left everyone feeling more comfortable about the upcoming first day of classes.
Our Freshmen Fest gave the incoming Class of 2021 the opportunity to ease the transition from middle school to upper school and included a high-spirited scavenger hunt throughout campus which provided introductions to many Harvey teachers and staff. Friendships formed quickly over shared adventure and laughter.
New students in grades 10-12 also attended an orientation in the Upper School where they had the chance to review their schedules, access their lockers, and take an extended campus tour.
We were not deterred by the light rain! We held our New Family Picnic at the end of the day, enjoying some favorite summertime food before heading home for the final weekend before school begins. We'll see you all very soon!
