Location

The Harvey School, nestled among rolling meadows, wooded groves and peaceful rural surroundings, provides a beautiful and inviting setting for learning and living. In addition to numerous academic and residential buildings, our 125 acre campus offers eight athletic fields, outdoor basketball court, nature trails, a biology pond and the Evarts Ice Rink. Located among the gentle hills of Katonah in northern Westchester County, New York, The Harvey School shares its “neighborhood” with the well-known Katonah Museum of Art, historic John Jay Homestead and the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts. It is easily accessible to and from Manhattan, Connecticut and other areas offering further opportunities for enrichment.

Transportation

Transportation for day students is generally often provided by local school systems. Check with the transportation coordinator of your local school district to ascertain if your child is eligible. Students who live beyond a fifteen mile radius and are not eligible for provided transportation have several options. Some commute by car when they have parental permission to drive on campus. Some families choose to car pool. Others join together to charter a private car service and share the commuting costs. Students may also commute by train. The Metro-North Harlem Line stops at Katonah from Grand Central Station. The school transports students to and from Katonah Train Station. Metro-North offers a reduced student fare.

Directions

From the George Washington Bridge:
After crossing the bridge, exit onto I-87 north to I-287 east. Take Exit 1 onto the Saw Mill River Parkway north. Take Exit 6 (“Katonah, Cross River and Route 35”) turning right at traffic light at top of the exit ramp onto Route 35 east. Turn right at traffic light on Route 22 south. Harvey is one mile south on the left.

From the Peekskill area:
Take Route 35 east to Route 22 south, turning right at the traffic light. Harvey is one mile south on the left.

From the Ridgefield area:
Take Route 35 west to Route 22 south, turning left at the traffic light. Harvey is one mile on the left.

From Croton-on- Hudson and Ossining area:
Take Route 100 north to Route 35, turning right. Take Route 35 east to Route 22, turning right at the traffic light. Turn right on Route 22 south. Harvey is one mile south on the left.

From the Tappan Zee Bridge:
After crossing the bridge and going through the toll booth, stay left on I-287 east. Take Exit 1 on to the Saw Mill River Parkway north. Take Exit 6 (“Katonah, Cross River and Route 35”) turning right at the top of the exit ramp onto Route 35 east. Turn right at traffic light on Route 22 south. Harvey is one mile south on the left.

From the Danbury area:
Take I-684 south to Exit 6 (“Katonah, Cross River and Route 35”). Turn left over the interstate onto Route 35 east. Turn right at traffic light onto Route 22 south. Harvey is one mile on the left.

From the Stamford and Greenwich area:
Take Route 104 (Long Ridge Road) north to Route 172, turning left. Take Route 172 west to Bedford Village. Turn right on Route 22 north. Harvey is seven miles north on the right.
