“When I was in the Middle School, all the students were invited to try out for hockey. It didn’t matter if you knew how to skate. This really stuck with me, and enabled me to be an athlete, while still perform on the stage.”

11th Grade – Activities: Soccer, Theater, Model UN, Community Service Club Tutoring Program

My twin brother, Ben, is in 11th grade. My sister, Anna, graduated from Harvey in 2010, and is attending Pratt Institute majoring in industrial design.

I came to Harvey in the 6th grade. The faculty was genuinely nice and welcoming to me. From the hallways to the classrooms, students were all open and pleasant no matter the grade. Everybody was friendly.

History and Economics are my top two favorite classes. It is fascinating to analyze and discuss historical events. Having interests in how the world and markets function, I am glad that Harvey offers electives such as Economics. Both classes are discussion based, which allows us to review what we have learned, and improve our understanding. In class, there is a desire and love for learning.

Harvey is filled with students who want to learn, explore new activities, and find passions within themselves that they never knew before. When I was in the Middle School, all the students were invited to try out for hockey. It didn’t matter if you knew how to skate. This really stuck with me, and enabled me to be an athlete, while still perform on the stage.

Harvey welcomes diversity and encourages community. I was encouraged to be an actor, become part of the Model UN International Affairs Committee, and to take Bio-Ethics. It is what makes Harvey unique. Teachers make an effort to get to know who you are, strike a connection and encourage you to pursue your interests.

My friends have become so close, that I would definitely consider them family. With class trips and small classes, students are encouraged to develop strong relationships. In the Upper School, we are brought together through morning meetings, various clubs, and after school programs. Teachers eat lunch with us, and provide one-on-one extra help.

During lunch, I like to hang out with my friends. Lunch is a terrific time for me to go for extra help with teachers.
