I came to Harvey in the 9th grade from a school in Greenwich because I wanted a different environment where I would be more academically challenged. At that time, my sister, Lana, was a sophomore here and I wanted to be closer to her. She graduated in 2011 and is a freshman at Hofstra University studying communications. English is my favorite class because I love to write and to use my mind to expand on different ideas and scenarios. My English classes have given me the opportunity to look at things from different viewpoints, analyze them and develop my own opinions. Harvey helps students find their place academically and socially. Small class sizes help students take control and excel. It has helped me become a better student because I feel comfortable asking teachers questions. This forms a good working relationship with the faculty, which not only helps me succeed, but also keeps me interested in what we are learning. Although as a student body we have diverse interests, I have found that we have a really nice group of kids who attend school here. I credit Harvey with keeping my sister and me close. Since our school is small, it is easy to see people you know, and to also make new friends. Leila
